LS family vs LT family... Which one?
I might be getting some money together soon and I would like to get a better engine/transmission setup in my car. Btw, my car is a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am with the 305 tpi and 700r4; it is basically all stock, somethings are replaced with OEM or better. But I really would like to have a 350 in my car, but not just the normal 350 that came stock in the 3rd gens. I am asking for opinions, price ranges, things needed to make either of the swaps, etc. I hope you guys can help me out with making up my mind.
Thanks for the help.
PS. Am I correct in thinking that the LT1 (that came is newer f-body cars) are cast iron as the LS1 is aluminum?

The LT1 came in 93-97 Fbody cars. The LS1 came in 98-02 fbodies. They are completley different engines.
The LT1 is an Iron block and the LS1's are aluminum blocks.
Price range varies a good bit. Someone else can help ya out on that part.
