I am going to be doing an LS1 swap this comming spring.what I am going to do is buy an LS1 car from some place like Erepairables.com or some place like them, this way I should have a complete setup and have to hunt less for parts.one question I have is when I unbolt the tranny mount and cross member from the 98-02 donor car will the stock K-member from the 4th gen car bolt up to a 3rd gen? The stock 3rd gen k-member needs to be modded or I need to get a tubular k-member,trying to keep the cost down to no more than 5k so of the 4th gen k-member will simply bolt up then that would be a plus.

if it was that easy there wouldn't be much of a market for conversion motor mounts..

the rear suspension mounting points on the body are the same and some of the floor pans are similar, but the whole car from the firewall forward is different on a 4th gen than a 3rd gen. i think the only parts that interchange are the lug nuts... the whole front suspension is different- different lower arms upper control arms instead of macpherson struts..
