tbi to carb small block 89 firebird wiring nightmare!

Wiring nightmare!! Anyone near Akron Ohio know wiring good? Id pay for help. I got the engine running, no charging from the alternator, and once when i turned the key off, it kept running? (only happened one time) The engine is from a 85 with the 2 plug SI alt, the car had the 1 plug alt. I have the fuel pressure regulator figured out with the relay, no problem there. At the C100, A4 power distribution ignition switch has 12 volts even with key off, as does G5 power distribution light switch?? The computer and related harness are completely gone, bought the car with no drive train and put mine in. the car when i bought it was set up for a carburetor with the wiring "already done" but obviously some problems?? ANY help appreciated!!

Why not just buy an engine harness for a carbureted engine and be done with it. I had the same scenario. '86 tpi body no drive train. Used an '85 engine harness for carb.

So your problem is a Alt problem ; not a engine swap or even carb problem

If it had a 1 wire then that would be aftermarket , not stock.
You are going to have to check / rerun any other wires associated with a SI ALT so you need the factory wiring diagram for a 85

Because they are power supplies from the battery INTO the car ; not out from the interior

If dodgy bro's have wired the car , you don't what /how it was done and you are not capable of understanding /rewiring / fixing it
then may be better to do as suggested and buy a clean carb car harness to throw in and save the drama.

Thanks for your replies. A4 comes from the C100 to the alt plug, and i have 12 volts at the alt plug?? That what doesnt make sense to me, i would think the 12 volts would run from the alt to the C100, not the opposite way? Where do i find a carb wire harness? Sounds like the best way to go? Im only having 3 wiring issues right now. 1- dont know where A4(power distribution ignition switch) goes, 2-i dont know where G5(power distribution lightswitch) goes, and i dont know where to put the brown wire (#1) from the alt goes-----most say it goes to the alt idiot light in the gauge cluster, but i dont have one? As far as A4 and G5, i would think the 12 volts would run from the Battery to the C100, not the opposite?? Thats why i have no clue on where to run them?

in the 85 C100, the #1 brown wire from the alt runs to F8 in the C100, but in the 89 C100, there is no F8, thats why i dont know where to run it? and i dont have an alt light in the gauges to run it to?

You're right, its an alt problem, just didnt know where else to put this question(s)?
