Hello guys! I have to make a big decision and I have been debating for almost a month now! I need advice.

I have a 1982 auto camaro 350 1406 edelbrock and other edelbrock dressings. Unknown miles but runs strong
And I have a 1984 manual camaro 305 l69 ho, needs carb but only has 151,000 Kms

The body car I'm keeping is the 1984. Should I take all the aftermarket parts and move it over or should I drop the 305 and install the 350 into the 84?

Toss the 305, but save the heads off the 305.

 

Is either one more rare then the other? I would personally want to swap the 350 with the manual. And put them both in the "rarer" car, Like if one is an z28 over just a rs.

 

I'd pull the 350 and store it while fixing the carb on the 305 and driving it. Later on, if you feel the need for speed, you can always make the swap.
In the meantime, you'll have the enjoyment of driving your car (possibly even getting some decent gas mileage out of it), have a chance to find and repair any problems/issues that the car may have, all while maintaining the original power train combination.
But that's me. I just have a concern about some people trying to do too much at one time and then the next thing you know, they are sick of looking at their unfinished project and it ends up on Craigs List.
The bottom line is that it's your car, your choice. Good luck with it whichever way you decide to go.
