What blocks are compatiable?
I have a 92 Camaro RS 305 L03 and want to do a swap. Will any small block drop in without a problemas long as its a 1 piece rear main seal as well as 4 bolt main? I'm lookkng at some bare blocks and just need to know. Lastly, the other block would have to be for a my camaro year correct? Let me know please!

The engine doesn't have to be 4 bolt and if it is a earlier 2 pce RMS seal engine ,you only need a flexplate to suit that engine, nothing else changes

I assume the reason for the question is "Location: San Diego".
Technically, any engine you install must be '92 model year or later. But, an older engine rebuilt to '92 specs should be acceptable.
The key is not making the smog inspector suspicious. If everything visible looks right, and it sniffs clean, then there really isn't any reason for them to look to see if you have an older block.
For the record, no 3rd gen came from the factory with 4 bolt mains. But, that isn't an issue to a smog inspector. If you have a 4 bolt main engine, exactly how is he going to know that?

Re: What blocks are compatiable?
I assumed it was a 4 bolt main. I didn't want to have to get a flex plate and do all the conversions or whatever it may be. I have to register and smog the car next week. Then my registration will be up in 2 years. Within the 2 years, i'll be able to do whatever I want to the car.

All you need is a $30 flexplate if you install a 2pce RMS engine
