Am I missing anything?

Hi guys,

Its not really another one of those threads, more a have I missed anything type...

I've got a 1991 RS with a 305 TBI, a friend has a Carb'd 350 which is doing nothing and has offered it to me at a pretty reasonable price. I'm not interested in setting the world on fire, but just having something with a little more poke.

The engine is a 72-75 block and has been rebuilt by an engine builder over here. It was used by my friends company as a dyno thingy and had very little stress and work hours. It was then replaced with another machine and has been sat for a while doing nothing but taking up room in their workshop.

Here is the situation and I just wanted to know if I was missing anything:

Its an older model SBC so I was going to get new engine mounts fitted anyway, but will they still be compatible with my 305 mounting points?

I have a fuel pressure regulator so I can lower the fuel pressure in the bay.

I have an auto box, do I need any special linkages for dealing with the box (700R4)? How does this effect the lock up torque convertor / will I need to replace my current one?

It has a manual choke which I will fit inside the dash.

This is very much a second car for me, so I can deal with the loss of fuel mileage that goes with switching from EFI to carb, I'm doing it more as an exercise to prove I can swap an engine.

Thanks all in advance. As a side note, I'll be clearing the bay of the wiring, but not removing it, so it gives me a chance to go back in the future.

Re: Am I missing anything?

Geometry corrector bracket is required for the 700R4 TV cable.

Different flexplate required for the older block. If you don't have the third starter bolt hole, you may want it drilled so you can use the smaller flexplate that fits under the inspection cover.

Left hand dipstick will require some grinding and finagling to fit under the stock exhaust manifolds (it can be done).

An alternate means of lock up will be required. There are kits or you can fab something yourself.
