RAM JET 350 swap
A local guy who sold me a ZZ3 350 a few years ago asked if i was interested in a RAMJET 350 crate motor that a buddy of his is taking out of his El Camino to put a big block because he's turning his street cruiser into a drag racing and the EFI small block isnt going to cut it. While i still havent put the ZZ3 in yet this does sound like something I'd like to have. i havent seen anyone on here with one in their third gen, I have seen old GMHTP magazine issues with a yellow one and ZF 6 speed manual transmission. I'm curious if any one has done the swap with this crate motor and whether or not they like it.
i know most of the stats on the crate engine. 1 pc rear main seal, roller cam with 1.6 roller rocker arms, Vortec heads and the important stuff. i figure this would do good in one of my birds
is the intake manifold taller than a TPI unit or shorter. those are my main concerns.
i hear the ECM isnt tuneable but i have seen a few aftermarket ECM on RamJets before, just wanna know who has one and what they did with it, what they changed and what broke and what didnt

Re: RAM JET 350 swap
It's basically a L98 with a more performance oriented parts list. Several guys run the ramjet intake, it's a good performer
I'm not sure what ECM the crate comes with, but it's an EFI SBC, so there is a range of control systems. Stock TPI EFI works, single coil and 8 coil LSx PCM control are also available and offer excellent tuning options

Re: RAM JET 350 swap
Its GMs own marine efi ECM. If it is newer it has the generation 3 or 4 MEFI system on it. The ECM IS tuneable and not all that hard to work with.
