Engine: 383 Stroker supercharged.
Transmission: 5 speed manual transmission
Axle/Gears: 3.45 posi rear

Never saw anything in the story but I doubt you'll want to see the price of the fully assembled engine. You can also get a 454 SBC but to feed that much displacement, you need a set of the more expensive heads. It can be easier and cheaper to build a small BBC that will have more potential for less money.
Can it be done, yes but this is also a magazine article and not what you would consider a real world swap. Is it cost effective? Not really when a 434 with a little shot of NOS could get the same results. What does someone see when they look under the hood? Just another SBC. You could tell them it's a 305 or 440 SBC and they couldn't tell the difference.
