Need some help with L98 TPI swap

OK I need some expert advice. I swapped an L98 out of an 87 Iroc Z into my 68 firebird that my son uses as a daily driver. Motor was completely redone and runs like a beast with one small issue I cant seem to nail down. I have noticed if I start the car and immediately rev it, it will sometimes die. When my son is leaving school every couple of days, if he leaves the parking lot within a minute or two of starting the engine it will die under accelaration. the car will immediately start up again but its just a nuisance. I have gone through the electrical system and seems to be ok which leads me to the 9th injector or a fuel problem. Car starts immediately and other than this issue of it dying runs great. I am looking at deleting the 9th injector as I am thinking this is possibly the source of my issue. question is do you guys think I am possibly on the right track. everything I have read about the cold start injector points to rough idle at startup which is not a symptom I have but seems to be a fuel problem more than electrice. Does have a new fuel pump and pressure regulator. I am just a little baffled. any advice would be helpful

Re: Need some help with L98 TPI swap

Just a quick guess, possibly a faulty coolant temp switch? Engine should idle high (1200 - 1500 rpm when cold). Ninth injector does start-up enrichment but does nothing after a few seconds of running. The ecm looks at the cts and enriches the fuel curve as needed and adjusts the inlet air control to adjust idle speed when the engine is cold. A good place to start is by reading the tuners guide. Even if you don't plan on modifying the engine or doing any tuning yourself, the guide has a lot of useful info and really helps to explain how the TPI system works. HTH
