t56 cross member and subframe connectors
i collector parts for a t56 swap, and i came across this photo with an x pipe tucked perfectly under the trans mount, with supports coming from either side tieing to the frame connectors. but i havnt seen it for sale anywhere. im assuming that was custom made. but ive seen this pic floating around for awhile, i was wondering if by now someone was producing this as a kit.

It's built91z28's car. Obviously he made his himself, mojo that is all I have been able to find, but I like how tight he made his to the car, I'm on my phone right now or I'd post a pic, but honestly idk how from a cell phone,
Re: t56 cross member and subframe connectors
I looked up his car; it looks similar to the one hawks sells.
Re: t56 cross member and subframe connectors
It's called a "double hump" cross-member. A place called skult used to sell them; but their site has been down for ages.
Here is the next best thing:
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/tr...r-t56-6-speed/
Either the hawks one or building your own will work.

Thanks for that man, I think I'd be better off just buying square tube steel and having someone make em....along with subframe connectors while I'm at it, does anyone know where to get chromoly steel?

Mild steel will likely be sufficient for what you are doing.
Also, if you don't know where to get chrome-moly tubing, then you probably don't know how to weld it properly (re-temper after the heat of welder, or something like that). Anyone who will be able to make the cross member and/or SFCs will know where to get it.

Lolz not at all! Hahah I was considering sourcing material and having a local shop do it for me, but you're probably right, I just don't want the chassis twisting when I'm creeping over storm drains, figured the chromoly parts aren't much more than stainless parts, so why not, but now knowing there's a process to welding it,....that's why not lol
