Frankenstein
So im near the end of my motor swap and tbi to carb conversion. I have an early 80s 305 with non cc quadrajet and hei. I put a mechanical fuel pump on and got rid of all emissions equipment. So first off i hooked up fuel lines and poured some gas down the throat of the carb, she fired right up, the died of course. did this a few times then i got flow to carb from fuel pump, yet car would not stay running. would only run if i poured gas down carb. then again it was just a test start to see if my frankenstein motor even ran, so no vacuum lines or anything hooked up yet, just fuel line to carb. I was thinking with a constant fuel supply it should stay running tho, maybe im wrong? new to quadrajets.another problem im running into is, all the accessories im trying to put on 305 is coming from my late 80s 350 with serpentine setup, and so far the alternator and ps bracket went on no problems. on the passenger side of the block of the 350 where the ac compressor and belt tensioner are, there is only the bottom mounting bolts for that bracket on my 305. the main thing im needing is the tensioner, but there are no mounting holes on my 305. so could if i switched to v belt, what all would be needed for this?

So been doing some research and looks like I won't be able to use my serpentine belt setup due to no mounting holes in the head, what all do I need to switch to v belt
