What to swap when putting a 305 engine in a different camaro?

Hello everyone, almost a month ago I was heading home and some guy hit me, and didn't have insurance. The camaro frame is bent too bad to be fixed (1984 H.O) , but I have another camaro without an engine that I had invested for such an occasion(1984 Z28) my question is when is needed to swap over to make the engine run on the other camaro. When I had boughten it the guy had said he had removed the wires that made the previous engine run. And If I have to swap the harness, do I have to remove the dash and instrument console? I would like to have the car up and going soon as possible, so any input would be appreciated

Kinda depends on the "other" Camaro.

Sounds like the "other" one is already a HACK JOB. Bes course of action now would be to RUN AWAY from that. Politely, kindly, gratefully, and such; not, arrogant, mean, unkind, haughty, or any such. Be nice, be kind, smile, but decline, gracefully.

Simple rule of reality: AVOID hack jobs. If the wires have been "cut", you don't want it. There oughtta be a license you have to qualify for, before you can buy a pair of dykes. Until that's enacted, best we can do is, recognize the symptoms of the Neanderthal who whenever he sees a wire thinks it's too long and .... yeah.

Keep looking for another car. WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too much trouble figuring out what this particular Homo Australopithecus did to that one.

Sounds like you're in a halfway decent position(as you wrecked an 84 Z and happen to have another sitting around). If you are confident in your abilities and have adequate room to work in this should go fairly painlessly (but not totally).

You need to get a couple rolls of masking tape and a few sharpie markers. Disassemble the wrecked car and tag EVERYTHING that you take off. You'll want to pull the engine, tranny, and all harnesses.

To do this you will have to take your time. Go ahead, before you start, and take any tool that resembles wire cutters and lock them away.

You'll have to also take your 'new' car apart as well to install everything correctly (particularly the harness/wiring).

Since the previous owner of your roller car said he removed all the wiring under the hood I wouldn't call it a "hack" job. If there aren't any wires there to be "hacked" then you have nothing to worry about.

So, the short answer is: take everything that is hooked to your current engine and transfer it over.
