Got a 454 :)

Paid 700 for a 454 that has spent its whole life on propane. It has about 140 on the motor but runs good. The heads have been re done and has a new timing chain. Got it from family so I know the history of the motor. Going in a 4X4 truck I got for free that's in great shape siting on 35s with 1 ton axles swapped in. Need a truck really bad so we will be driving it for a long time with the 454 but when it is time for a rebuild as the motor has never been rebuilt I will swap my new 350 in the truck and build the 454 for the Camaro. Now I have to keep in mind when I make mods to my car that some day it will have a big block in it. The motor is from 77. I have not ran the numbers yet but am hoping it has the 781 heads on it. I have an extra set of good 781s at my fathers if it has peanut port heads. I also have a machined 454 block, forged 3.76" crank and factory forged rods to turn the spare 454 block in to a 427 so some day both rigs will have a big block. This is my first Chevy big block I have always wanted one. Going to be borrowing a 750 Edelbrock for a while. Plant on doing a Peformer cam, intake, 770 street avenger carburetor, 1 3/4 headers with 9.1 compression later when I rebuild it. I have to get a carb in the next few months so the carburetor will be on it pretty soon. Hope to be able to do the rebuild around this time next year if all goes well.
