throttle cable length tpi-carb
swapped my tpi305 to a carbed350. i have a holley carb, and bought the 2 necessary brackets. my tv cable seems to fit great with no excessive slack or tightness. but my throttle cable seems to be way too long.
has anyone run into this problem and or found a solution to it?

Re: throttle cable length tpi-carb
I had a problem going from 305 TPI to 383 Holley Terminator EFI, but mine was that I had a barrel end on the cable and a clip on the throttle body as well as the cable was way too long and was slightly binding. My choices were a ~$25 adapter (which wouldn't solve the length issue) or an
ATP Y-755 accelerator cable for $15. I installed the cable, but it's a hair too short on the housing and seems tight against the wiper motor, but doesn't bind. It also had a slightly long cable, because the throttle blades were not opening fully with the pedal on the floor. I fixed that by crimping an electrical splice around the cable on the pedal side. (An uninsulated butt connectors works for this). While my TV cable fits, the housing is a little long and ACDelco makes the TV cable still so I have ordered that, but not installed it yet.

Lurbie, where did you get this cable? i'll be using a accufab style TB and my TPI cable is too long.

If it weren't around the washer lug it looks as if it would be ok.
Thanx much, I'll look into it.

Re: throttle cable length tpi-carb
It put quite a bend in it by trying to get it in front of the wiper motor because of how close the throttle bracket is to the wiper motor. That's why it goes over and behind it. And it was TPI to begin with, so I had nothing to compare it with.
