Sbc 350 build
I have a good short block from a 70 chevelle I'm looking to put into my 84 z28 ho. I need it to pass California's sniffer smog. I'm planning on using a weiand 142 smog super charger in the near future so I have to take that into consideration. What's the best recommendation for heads and cam and everything else I need to drop it in. Ultimate goal with the super charger is 400whp.
Thank you, Jason

I would assume you will have to keep your current CC carb. I forget who it is, but I believe there's a member who frequents the Carburetor forum that has put a CC carb on a supercharged SBC (and it was probably the Weiand 142).
I would tend toward the GM Fastburn heads for this. They are Vortec pattern, so you'll have to use a Vortec Weiand manifold (doesn't look like they after that combo - Vortec heads and spreadbore carb - as a kit). You'd have to keep the cam fairly mild to keep the sniffer happy (I'd call cam manufacturers and have them recommend something rather than a crap shoot at a recommendation myself).
Not sure you'll get 400 RWHP out of a 350 w/142. 400 GFWHP, maybe. Stroke it to 383, probably easier to obtain.
But, if I was looking for that kind of California-friendly power, I'd do this instead:
