91 Camaro engine swap

So i have a 91 Camaro RS with the 3.1 engine. The v6 is on its way out so I'm looking into what engine would be the best for my budget and experience to swap in place of the v6. I have a somewhat limited budget and I would like to get a 350 that would bolt onto the existing 700R4 transmission. The gears in my car are already capable of handling a 350. So I guess my question is what engine would be the easiest and most cost effective to swap into my car. Any other tips on the general swap are appreciated too. Thanks

There isn't one.

The 3.4 V6 is good advice. Check for more details on the V6 forum.

Re: 91 Camaro engine swap

The 2.8/3.1/3.4 etc use a 60* bellhousing pattern. SBC use a 90* bellhousing. The 3.1L V6 700R4 case is different from the V8 700R4 case.

Pretty much nothing from the V6 drivetrain will bolt up to a V8. To do it right, a person almost needs a complete V8 parts car. A person can cobble some **** together, plenty have, you see them all day long on Craigslist.
