Hello, Engine swap! I need your help as I am at my wits end and am not sure who else to ask.(This is an engine swap, but is wired exactly as Camaro). 1987 Iroc 5.7 TPI with 700R4. Symptom is:Intermittent stall while braking. I get 2-3 quick fluctuations in rpm/volts while braking(especially going downhill) to the point of stalling. Since replacing TCC solenoid in transmission- it hasn't stalled, but gets to point of idiot lights coming on and then catches...All other aspects of swap are perfect, except for this! I have:1). replaced TCC solenoid and this helped, still getting wild swings while applying brakes. 2) Cut tan/black wire coming from ECM and connected a)voltmeter to computer. b) switch to ground to transmission. Seemed to work well while manually switching to ground. The ECM seemed to open/closed solenoid ok- however this was strange.... I was getting voltage FROM ECM when supposed to be open and no volts when ECM is supposed to close... There are no emissions, EGR is there but not connected. Emissions have been removed via custom chip from TPIS (problem was definitely there before chipping). Please help. What in the world is causing my engine to intermittently "hang" while braking??? Engine and trans have been overhauled and problem in now exacerbated due to stronger engine and trans. I am now having trust issues with my vehicle, as well as myself!
