dose wiring harness and ecm work from vette to Camaro or will I have to buy harness and ecm to put motor and tranny in Camaro from vette.

 

Not really. Corvettes used a water-proof version of the ECM that was mounted outside the driver compartment. There are enough differences on the Corvette TPI setup and accessory drive, that there's really not much reason to use a Corvette setup for a thirdgen swap.

 

In 86 the vette used a inside mounted 1227265 ecm. The Under hood ecms didn’t show up until 90. You can use the same ecm but the memcal will have vats enabled. Not much special about a 86 l98 I think it would have iron heads.

 

thanks guys my old 2.8 was blown and I found a deal on a wrecked 86 vette and was going to swap into my body 88 z-28 [I had already changed motor/tranny out of 87 wrecked Camaro into it because when I got the 88 originally it had no motor/tranny or engine harness] so I was hoping that I could do the same swap

I don’t think the vett trans will mount up. Different torque arm mount right.

 

The motor, you can use; not the transmission. But if it was me I'd take the TPI off and sell it, and put some other intake system on it.
