1991 Z28 swap to Dart LS SHP Pro/4L80e

Hi All,
My first post on this board. I live in San Antonio, TX. I'm retired and have an understanding wife, so I have time and no hassle. It's great.

I found a 1991 Z in Phoenix and bought it. Zero rust, bone stock, never been hit. It has 87K on it now, and a 305 TPI motor/4L60e that runs fine for what it is. It's a nice car except for the usual door sag etc.. I had a trusted suspension shop in Phoenix go over it before I drove it to TX. It's here now, and I just ordered the 4.125 bore Dart LS SHP Pro block. I have a set of GM LS7 castings in my garage, hence the 41/8 bore. I haven't decided on a stroke yet, but this will be a pump gas street car so I can't get too crazy. Luckily, where I live 93 Octane pump gas is everywhere.

The stock 2.73 Posi/drum brake rear-end and the 4L60 will have to be upgraded, so I'm shopping. I'm thinking 4L80e and a Ford 8.8 oughta' do it. Maybe a 9 incher. I depends upon what I can find, which is basically the reason for bothering you lot. Opinions are certainly welcome. Let's see if I can figure out how to post pics.....

Cheers,

Frank
