You might come close if you can get the engine ecm and harness for 1k.
You have to remember that all the little things ad up.
I have close to 5k in my swap. Its not stock however.
This only applies if you plan on doing the work yourself.

I spent 3000$ Canadian on this swap, if you want to do it, keep the real fuel injection system for it, Gm miniram ....that's the way to go ! if you install a tpi or TBI it will restric the amount of horse power that beast is making. I can help you with ANYTHING you want to know, if you're good you can do it on a 2000$ budget ..., you'll also have to make your own wiring harness, motor mount, fuel lines, ps lines, rad hoses and all the littles details ...

it took me 8 days of hard work and tool trowing to be able to start the engine and hear it's magical sound. I did it on my own, no help, fairly easy if you know a little mecanic. , that was my first swap ...I'm 19 years old

To finish the project completly it took me about about 3 weeks working on and off on this

The result is perhaps NICE

I'm doing the same swap into my 1985 Camaro.

I bought a 95 Caprice cop car at an auction which had an multiport injection 350 in it. Costed 2500 canadian for the whole car. Has some nice ABS disc brakes on it too.

In order to run the LT1 setup you WILL have to use the LT1 Injection, or get a carbed intake from GM performance. The LT1's used reverse cooling through out the entire motor I think tarting through the heads and down the block, verses the L98's start from the block and up through the heads. There is just no way around it.
