I want to know when I swap my 2.8 for a 350 with wire harness and e.c.m from donor car,does donor car have to have cruise control for my cruise to work after swap?If there is info on this site on this topic,could someone point me to the link,Thanks

 

Generally speaking, it shouldn't matter. The sensor that drives the cruise control is also used by the EFI, and all the cruise wiring is in the dash harness or the CC harness. So at least in theory, you won't be changing anything related to the CC system.

 

I would if you could grab the cruise control box, and the vacuum ball, wiring harness. The cruise on these cars is a separate wiring harness. There is a module in the passenger dash I would also grab. However I'm like 90% sure your 2.8 cruise will carry over... but if you have access to the donor car why not grab the parts to be safe.

 

Thanks guys.I cant get anything from "donor"vehicle because the guy only wants to sell me the rebuilt engine,wire harness and ecm.All this is from an 87 Camaro and he is going to install L.S 3 engine.
