Anyone ever used this?

Hey guys, the LO3 in my 91' Firebird is getting weak and I'm looking to replace it this winter, and am exploring all options. I don't need a super high perfromance engine (anything at all would be better than the LO3) and don't have a deep wallet. My question is I see the GM 350 as a base long block for 91' to 93' TBI for about $1400. I assume this is for replacing the TBI trucks, but I would think this would work fine in a thirdgen too. Could I get by using all my 305 intake and accessory stuff and just increasing fuel pressure and computer, or else I could find it all off a wrecked truck too. DOes anyone see any problems with this as a good base for future mods? I could always add an LT1 cam and heads later. I guess I just want to know if it would work, be relatively easy and a little easier on the wallet?? Please help me out if you got any info and thanks in advance. Oh yeah, anyone know what the HP and torque figures are on it?? Something like 215 and 350??

I dont know about it performance wise. Find out what kind of heads it uses. Also, I really dont see you using the lt1 heads being as the lt1 is reversed cooling and the heads had a different design but you could probably add heads of some sort and a cam to match down the road and do decent.

Yeah, I didn't mean LT1 heads, just the cam, with probably a set of Edelbrock heads down the line. Anyone else got something to say?? ANyone??

The truck 350 will work in the thirdgens. All you have to do is...Swap the engines, use the 350 fuel injectors, and use the truck's ECU (it's a direct plug-in replacement for your 8746) and PROM. Ask about this on the TBI board, there's a few people over there who have done this (I think JPrevost has...).
