RE: Rebuild or Replace 305 TBI
I have a relatively high mileage (180k-ish) 1991 305/TBI that I was looking to rebuild, but I stumbled across a low miles 1991 305/TBI (80k) for pretty short money (~$700).
I'm going to be returning the car to mostly stock and it will be a weekend driver that runs and sounds good.
I will most likely just freshen up the replacement motor - so all in, it would probably be ~$1k.
Thoughts?

Re: Rebuild or Replace 305 TBI
If I was going to spend money and go through all the trouble of pulling and replacing the engine while trying to keep cost down, I would spend a few more dollars and drop in a L31 350.

Re: Rebuild or Replace 305 TBI
I was toying with that idea as well, in fact I had an 88 Formula I got from a mechanic who swapped out the 305 with a 350, just don't recall if he had to swap out ECMs and/or Injectors - I'm sure there's a write up here..... just being lazy ; )
