Say you had an 89 305 l03 with 170,000 miles on it.... you also had 600-800 dollars. what would you do while rebuilding this engine?? new heads?? lt1 cam?? remember you also have to include a rebuild kit.... hmmmmm......

I think you already know what I'm going to say.
If you've already got the engine rebuilt then a cam is always good so long as you don't reuse the stock heads.

get your hands on some more cash and do a 350 might even throw a cam in that while it is sitting right in front of you

and just to let you know I have a 350 TBI 305 injector Lo3 heads mild cam problaby about the size of an lt1 unknon those and 3" exhaust and i run a 15.0
I just put on a Weiand "team G" intake major difference definatly a 14 sec car now and after I port polish these L98 heads sitting on the bench and a set of headers a set or 350 injector ultimate TBI burning my owns chips would be nice to I might be low 14 or mid to high 13's 2400 stall and slick might help I also have 2.73 posi:lala:

I'm not going to bash the 305, and as far as mods to perform, just check the threads on this board or do a search. But rather than rebuild a 305, a 350 would be a more logical choice. If I was gonna pull my 305, it would be getting replaced with an engine of greater displacement.
