Engine SwapEverything about swapping an engine into your Third Gen.....be it V6, V8, LTX/LSX, crate engine, etc. Pictures, questions, answers, and work logs.
Been reading a lot from all of you over the years. Just joined.
I have a 1990 IROC 5.7L with the 700R I will be pulling in the next week or 2. If anyone wants the L98 and 700R it it is Listed for sale on Portland Oregon's Craigslist. I bought the Holley Terminator ECM and harness to do drive by wire with the L76 LS engine out of a 2009 G8. The T56 is out of a 2000 Z28.
I have everything to do the swap at this point. In all the treads I have read I have not seen what it says I need to keep as far as it comes to the wires off the current ECM and tying my existing gauges into the Holley Harness and ECM.
Do I totally remove the 1990 Camaro existing ECM and wiring? Any help on this portion and what wires I keep would be greatly appreciated.

Appreciate your help. Finally getting to where I can start the car. On the wires I kept the pink, purple, red and red wires. The purple goes to the solenoid. Do the other 3 wires go to the battery? On the 4 wires I have black marks next to purple solenoid and the other 3 hot?
A4 and G5 are power for the inside of the car, they go to the starter post normally. You can put them on the battery or a distribution post if you choose instead.
B4 is the starter solenoid
F4 is ignition power to the coil, it has no fuse, it is only protected by the fusible link on either A4 or G5. It is only one of two wires that is hot in crank.
The other is A6 and is protected by the gauges fuse
