ECM Removal
I have a '92 Camaro which had a 3.1L v6 that I'm swapping for a GEN 1 350 SBC. I'm trying to completely remove the ECM, I've removed the wiring harness, from the firewall connector on the driver's side, to the ECM. While I understand wiring pretty well, I've had trouble figuring out which wires go where. Along with this, I don't know which wires go into the firewall. I want to stip this connector of any wires I can while still being able to later wire in my cluster (Tach, Speedo, Oil Pressure, Coolant Temp., etc.). Are there any diagrams for the firewall connector? Which gauges can be hardwired to the sensor? Is there a way to get my speedo to work without the ECM?
Re: ECM Removal
I’m not 100% positive but I vaguely recall that all the gauges will work without the ecm, but the CEL might turn on. I was asking about this in the HOLLEY SNIPER EFI forum on Facebook and that seemed to be the consensus. Are you going for an aftermarket efi setup?

Re: ECM Removal
You have already probably figured it out. On 90-92 3.1l the ecm is a Vss buffer as well as controller for tcc lockup.
you can get a stand alone tcc lockup kit if applicable.
As far as a Vss buffer you can use a Dakota digital ship-100 by or older Vss buffer box or just leave the ecm in with power and grounds hooked up .
