305 tbi to 350 tpi question about gauge cluster and rpms?
I have a 91 RS recently did a 350 swap . I still have the 115mph 305 gauge . I noticed my rpms are reading 1500 at idle but I think the engine is idling fine 700 it sounds about normal . I think I read that there is a difference in the 305 tbi distributer and tpi distributer which will read different in the gauge or is it the gauge itself because it was built for a 305 ?
I know the stock gauges are off anyway but would a 145mph gauge cluster work more accurately with my swap?

I did the same swap years ago, had no issues. The distributors aren't any different. If you suspect the problem being the distributor then swap it, see if it changes. I'm not sure what's causing your current problem.

Search here for the tach resistor fix or contact Cajun tach shop. Common issue with the 90-92 tach to read inaccurate.
