Re: Anyone have a good recipe for swapping to a carb on an LT1?
I did this, got tired of the junk opti. I used gmpp intake and holley 750 vac secondary and skip white billet distributor 8mm wires and autolite copper plus plugs. Was a fantastic combo. On the holley i added 50 cc accelerator pump kit and also added the secondary metering block and adjustable vacum can for the secondaries. Take time tuning carb but it ended up way better than any opti crap i tried.
Re: Anyone have a good recipe for swapping to a carb on an LT1?
LOL, I solved both problems:
- the opti- swapped LT1 heads onto a SBC 305 😁
- I used an old victor jr intake on that, welded everything shut that didn't line up and then put new holes where I needed them
There used to be a GMPP intake manifold that had the LT1 pattern and was intended for running a carb on them but good luck in finding one 20some years later...
