Just recently I was being careless and didn't top off my oil as frequent as I should, ran on low oil for too long and now my 305 is throwing a rod. I'm proceeding to pull the engine but a family member came to me with a 350 from an old C10. My plan is to swap it into the Camaro but my knowledge is very limited. I have a basic knowledge about engine mechanics but not a sliver about the computers. I was hoping to get all the input I could about this swap from people who have experienced similar situations or have more knowledge of the cars in general. I have a relatively small budget so I was hoping to transfer over any compatible parts from the 305. I'm fresh out of highschool and this car is both my daily and my dream. I just want to see her back in the road and any tip big or small is greatly appreciated.

 

700r4 transmission? What year is the 350 from ?
if you planning on keeping the tbi get injectors for a 87-92 tbi 350 truck and you can use the 1227747 truck ecm if it’s for your transmission and a 350 or get a anlu or atjp prom for existing ecm.

 

What model C10 did the 350 come out of ?
