Re: For us Ls/lt guys.

Yeah, those ZF eight speeds are pretty cool. People have been adapting them for several years now but the adapter plates and controls have been expensive. But a guy at LS1tech.com has figured out how to control it with a Holley Dominator ECM.

The HP70 that Dodge puts with the naturally aspirated engines is good to about 700 horsepower stock. The HP90 with the supercharged engines is good to 1000 horsepower stock.

Re: For us Ls/lt guys.

I have a 2015 ram 1500. The ZF8 2wd for those is $250 used by the dozens near me. I've seriously considered buying one just to stash. As the conversion becomes more mainstream, those prices are going to skyrocket.
Fyi, SVR jags and land rovers use the same box too. They're basically indestructible

Re: For us Ls/lt guys.

The reason they're so cheap is because the transmission has an internal ECM that is locked to the original vehicle.

Re: For us Ls/lt guys.

For those of doing service replacements, it's as simple as swapping the TCM from one valve body to the next. For the aftermarket, it seems they've been quite successful working around it.
