Possibility of a 350......
Possibility of a 350......
Ok, I have a friend who tells me that his father has a crate LT1 that he bought to put in a truck he had, well after having the motor bored 30 over, he decided to go with an older 396 for the truck, well, that left him with an LT1 just sitting there... My friend tells me that his father wants to sell the LT1, and get this, for 200 dollars.....
That just sounds entirely too cheap to me.... how bout you????
I know that the motor has no injection system on it, but I don't know what else it may include.... I'll get to talk to the guy later today, I was just wanting your opinions on this motor and price....
Also, If I do buy it, how hard will it be to put this motor in....
does anything switch over... say, altenator, any pumps, anything at all, will the TBI work on it... or do I even want to do that.... I don't have a lot of money right now to invest in it, but i want it on the road, nothing has to be final....
thanks for the input....

If its rebuilt already then for sure get it. You might want to get an LT1 intake off www.camaroz28.com before all the TPI people buy them up to put on their L98s. They use to be between $50-$100 for intake and fuel rails but its probably more now. You can also get a single plane carb intake for it from www.sdpc2000.com and put the TBI on it. You should be able to use your alternator but you'll need LT1 bracketry
sweet!!!
ok, now, i talked to the guy, and it includes:
block, heads, cam, all that includes....
it also has oil pan, oil pump, and maybe water pump....
so, my altenator will work... will any of the other parts change over???
this motor will bolt up with no mount relocation right?
and about the wiring harness.... could someone explain this to me... what wires... where do they come from and go.... and is there like an adapter to go between what i have and what the lt1 will need???
thanks again

I'm gonna copy this to the motor swap so you can check both. You can't use an adapter for the TBI computer to stock LT1 intake. You'd need the LT1 computer and injectors and harness. The motor needs to go a bit worward I think because of the accessory location
