Alot of people have been running that cam from dozens of mfrs for the last 30 or 35 years. There are far better cams nowadays. That cam was designed back when there were no decent valve springs available and oil was much inferior. Something with steeper ramps (less "advertised" duration and more .050" duration) and a 10° or so bigger exhaust lobe will run a whole lot better. Notice the other post whose 292 advertised cam has 16° more .050" duration; i.e. it will make far more power (more .050"), and idle the same as yours (same advertised).
It is definitely too much cam for an automatic trans with a stock converter and a 350. It might be tolerable with a 400 and an auto but will still be difficult. With a stick or a very loose TC it will probably be OK.
