What are frame mounts and what are motor mounts?

Terminology.
The engine mounts on a 3rd gen consist of two parts on each side: the part that bolts to the frame (that contains the vibration-absorbing rubber - often called the "frame mount"), and the part that bolts to the engine (often called the clamshell, but also the motor mount or motor half). The two bolt together to form the complete engine mount (typically called the motor mount).
The engine half doesn't wear out. If you went to the parts store and asked for a "frame mount", you'd probably get a blank stare. If you asked for engine mounts, they'd look up and sell you the frame half.
In days of yore, the motor mounts bolted directly between the engine and frame, so there was only one piece. The part with the rubber actually bolted to the engine.
Of course, there were also the days went the motor mounts consisted of rubber donuts, flat washers, studs & nuts...
