How do you remove motor mounts clamshell?
Are the nuts in the crossmember welded or do you have to get a special tool. Or do you have to remove the control arm?
Thanks, Gary

The frame mounts are a pain to get to but they can be removed without dropping the arms.Use a swivel socket and extension on the bottom nuts.Have the car up on jackstands.Spray liquid wrench on the nuts to free up.Have someone hold the wrench on the top bolt while you locate the bottom nut.Pick your best way in.
To install ,find something to hold that nut on your socket,I used a dab of silicone.Reach up thru the same way you removed.I lost a couple nuts I had to fish out with a magnet but with patience its easier than dropping the arms I think.I have a Helms factory manual and a Haynes but neither one told me how to get those off. They just said remove bolts.Yea right!

Thanks guys. Now that I know that I am thinking of just taking the welder and tacking the nuts onto the crossmember like they should have been done in the first place. They should be easy enough to remove then.
