Holley Street Avenger System for ZZ4
I'm putting together a tenative plan for my IROC engine swap this summer. There's a good chance that I'll be going with a ZZ4. I was looking at Holley's "Street Avenger System" for Chevrolet crate engines... seems like they have everything that I would need to complete the engine. Would it be a good idea to get everything Holley? There's probably stuff out there that's better than what they offer, but it just seems easier when everything I need to get is laid out in front of me.

How much of the "system" are you talking about?
The ZZ4 engine comes with intake & distributor, good pieces. You certainly aren't talking about their heads, are you? Or cam?
I assume you are thinking of converting from TPI to carb (although that isn't necessary - a Big Mouth, siamesed runner, ported plenum ZZ4 TPI can be a mean combo). About all you'll need convert to carb with the ZZ4 is a carb - get a Demon 650 or 750, better than the Holley. Do you already have headers? They sell Hookers. SLP would probably be better, though.
The Avenger system assumes you have a 350 that you want to improve. You're looking at an improved 350 that you want to complete. I don't think the Avenger system has much to offer you. If you were just getting the ZZ4 shortblock, that might be a different story.
(A '67 SS-396 with 11k miles? Really? Wow!)

Thanks for clearing that up, five7kid. I'm pretty much set on going carb, so I'll probably take a look at the Demon carbs like you suggested. I am still not sure if I want to go with Hooker or SLP headers, but I'm leaning towards the SLPs.
Yep, the '67 has real low mileage. Wouldn't be too valuable to a true collector though... it's got performance parts for drag racing. The thing used to run in the mid 10s back in the 70s...
