406 buildup-how about this cam and injectors?

I'm building up a 406 motor for my car, I have a good bottom end with flattops, and to be honest, I still have to figure out my compression ratio, but I'm shooting for high 9:1 or so. I'm thinking of a GM cam, listed on numerous GM performance places, what do you think for a decent daily driver/strip car? The specs are(roller cam) 222/230 I/E duration, 509/528 lift @112 lobe sep. It seems like about right, but it's been awhile since i've cammed a small block. Its either that, or an LT4 hot cam, with either 1.5 or 1.6 rockers. I already have 1.5 roller rockers, don't really wanna buy another set to get the lift of the hot cam. Oh, this will be using a SD efi'ed tunnel ram/custom plenum with a tpi throttle body, and prom burning. I was thinking on using ford 24# injectors, run at 43ish PSI. Not enough? thanks for all your input in advance. I'm shooting for a cam that will idle pretty decently. I figure alot of guys are running HOT cams, and *maybe passing emissions, with 50 more cubes, this should suck up that camshaft. What do you guys think?

u need a bigger cam

that 406 coud use a bigger cam.224@.05 is kinda wimpy for your 406.your displacement alows for a bigger cam and yet be pretty streetable.

Built up a similar 400 to yours with a Miniram on top. Ford's 30 lb SVO injectors were WAY cheaper than anything else available and are 100% compatible with GM application. They bolt in and plug in just like the GM ones do. They work great for belting out 400 HP but still idling well. They still have some headroom left in them if we stab in a hotter cam, too. Ford rates their injectors at a lower pressure so they actually equate to about 32# injectors by GM's rating system.

24s are way too small for your application.

FYI- with flattop pistons you'll need a 76cc head to get down to the high 9s, compression wise. 72cc heads and you'll be up around 10.2:1.

cool, thanks for the info, I wanna make sure I don't lean out the thing too bad, but still get a good idle out of the injectors, so I was thinking maybe bigger 30lbs might be good, but didn't want to go too big, usually stay a little conservative. I still have to cc's the heads and see where they fall. I haven't really dug too deep into the engine other than getting the intake and efi system fabbed up, but i know the engine when it was assembled before had about 10:1 compression....
