pulling motor, have questions

ok guys, we are pulling this thing (88 305TPI) out tomorrow...today i got the manifolds loose and all the coverter stuff on them that runs to the cat or engine....all thats off...all the little metal tubes.

..do they have to go back on? can i just plug the holes?..

I dont have a smog test or anything to get a sticker (WV) will this cause my engine lite to stay on or something?

Im taking the injection system off before I pull it....will i run into any problems?

I had the cut the heat shield on the driver's side..how big of a mistake was that?

while this babys out is there anything i can do to the tpi thats not really expensive that might help performance/looks?

thanks in advance
chris

Remove the AIR system & plug um up.
It will be easier to work on the FI with the engine out.
You can port the plenum while it's apart.
