85 Z28 here. Just an LG4, but I really don't care much for performance, otherwise I'd have bought a Renault 5 GT turbo.
And I'll be driving her again soon! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Here's the engine. Since this picture I've had the car running (first time in a year) and the next step is moving the car into the street so I can drive up and down it while I fine tune it!

Red 82 Trans Am , 305 Crossfire , T-tops etc . Ongoing renovation project, have owned the car for 5 years.
Recent work : replaced ecm and fusible links; have removed the aircon , but still to fit the a/c delete panel. Also have a wonderbar ready to bolt on, if I ever find the time to continue working on the car

'86 Camaro sport coupe auto-everything chrome plated or polished, and finally fitting air suspension! Then needs taking out to be chrome plated!!!! Still LG4 motor though-but shiney.
91RS with rebuilt 350 and quadrajet - manual box. Soon to be painted professionally! Whaaaay! Then TPi'ing it, just for a laugh.
Hardly drive any of 'em. Anywhere. Enjoy driving them though when they do venture out, but like working on them better. That's sad isn't it?
Andy.

I am dead pleased with it!!!
After years of driving little engined cars even a 305 feels VERY nice!!!! cuna... only reason I asked is that it looks very similar to one I looked at June last year with a nice shaped rear spoiler, 15" IROC alloys and blue painted inserts
dr g... not figures yet since I bought the car already done... all bits were new mostly from summit... nowidea what the power output is I'm guessing that around 370 is not too far of the mark (based on similar spec cars I've read up about)... but once I'm working again I want to try a few RWYBs at north weald and see how I get on

Tomorrow I'll take it to an auto-electrician, the fans are not comming on for some reason... Can't wait to be able to drive it into town
sounds like the one I went to see last july... seemed to be a nice car apart from the lack of nearly any history
and the fact that it'd had a rear ender necessitating a new tail gate - not a problem in it-self... just wish the owner had told me before I travelled to look at it... be interesting to hear your thoughts on ownership....

Well, I reckon the owner sold it because the minor problems piled up. When I bought it was smoking like there was no tomorrow, fortunately that turned out to be the PCV valve.
The right calliper was binding and it pulled when breaking, however just driving it around seems to have fixed that.
The rev counter is over-reading to hell!!! When you floor it the needle hits the limiter at what would be 8k rpm!!!
The gearbox is sweet and smooth, feels awesome. The engine now that it stopped smoking seems alright, idles very smooth and pulls strong. It drives totally straight and handles very well. Bodywork is awesome!!!
Seems like a perfectly practical car apart from one thing, the turning circle sucks.

I have booked in Dolphin Autos on Monday to get my fans fixed. Then I’ll service it in a couple of months time.
I love it
It could be faster, but otherwise it is an awesome car, sweet handling, GREAT torque for pulling out of junctions and into roundabouts, alright brakes... But best of all EVERYONE looks
I know it is only a humble Camaro but it feels like I am driving a UFO

Hi cuarawit,
Good to hear you are loving the car. How come you fancied a Camaro? Where are you located? You should put a sig together so we know what she has. Any plans for it?
I agree though the turning circle is about the same as a supertanker
You also may notice a strange creaking from the steering on full lock. Just one of the many idiosyncracies that acyually make it more fun
As for the looks, you may find the ladies aren't so keen (eh Damo?
) but only becuase they think they look evil
Crikey that is exactly what I love about them!
Good to have you on the boards.
Felix

I grew up in Venezuela BTW, 1st and second generation Camaros are very common over there. 3rd gens only the latter models (91-92) are common and 4th gens are fairly common too. I always wanted a 70-1/2 Z28 with the split front bumper
But for now the IROC-Z will do, I hope it proves to be quite a reliable daily driver... When I have the cash to run a Camaro as a second car I'll get an early second gen. If I am not tempted away by a 70 Cuda that is
