It's been a bad summer for me in terms of free time. New job, house and baby have seen to that. Will only make the Street Rod Nats at the end of August. Haven't even been to the drag strip which is rare for me. Hope to get this sorted for next year and be far more active.

Can't believe it's nearly winter again!!

Can you make the Street Rod Nats boydee?

Hi ZZ42Fast.
Where is the Street Rod Nats being held?

I made Americana this year, first time ever, as you'll have seen by my previous posts on here.

We've been to a few this year. All were excellent. Stars and Stripes (very relaxing), Billing (busy), local shows (good for polishing and cleaning for the big shows), bridlington (rained a bit though!), but only because we bought a trailer tent, otherwise (like ZZ42fast says), we wouldn't have got anywhere with 2 small kids. We had to force ourselves to make an effort. Well worth it though! My 6 year old is starting to recognise some cars now. We didn't make the Americana though (too costly).

Saying that, we are spending 2 weeks on the East Coast this year, both in August so I haven't driven the Camaro since the end of July (when the tax ran out). Next week is our second week away, and I am having to spend this week maintaining the inlaws cars and getting an elderly Punto through an MOT (full service, clutch etc). So I have declared it SORN. Our next planned show is in Sutton on Sea (just below Mablethorpe) on the 10th and 11th of September. I will tax the car then.

I am going to spend the winter getting some money back into the bank account! Maybe my red sport coupe will be ready next summer. Or maybe not. Bl**dy kids! Take all my time away!!

Hey ZZ42, get that little baby (won't be so little then!) of yours out and about next summer to as many shows as you can. My 1 and a half year old gets stuck in and enjoys it (inbetween nappies, sleeps and feeding time). Hope to meet up one day. And you Boydee.

Regards to all.

Andy.

boydee, the Nats are in Suffolk- long way for you

Andy- LOL I thought I'd give the little man a year of grace and then get stuck in. Too much of a handful before then really. Glad you managed to get stuck in this year. Our finances are pretty dire too- the good lady wife is spending anything and everything on the house...

Be great for us all to meet up one day. Pretty slack of us really thus far.

Cheers,
Felix
