Hello from Hungary

Hello I am Feri from Hungary, I am a fresh owner of a 1985 Trans Am. The car landed at me as a debt settlement. My old time friend couldn't give back the cash for years, so he gave his car to me. This is my first US car, so probably I will have a lot of questions

About the car: it is an 1985 Trans Am, done only 42000 miles, standing the last 20 years in my friends garage. Probably everything about the car is stock, except of the paint, which had been redone around year 2000.

Re: Hello from Hungary

These are the first pictures. I have already removed one of the wings on the back, the next job will be removing those ugly antennas from the top...

Welcome! The TA looks to be in very good condition. You are right, you need to loose the extra antennas.

Re: Hello from Hungary

Thx for the welcome! The whole car is very straight, never driven in winter or even i the rain.

Some issues needs to fix although: one of the buttons adjusting the driver's seat is broken, the driver's safety belt hasn't got the strongest spring, it has got barely enough power to return to the A column. I need also a new exhaust system, the rear silencer is totally cut off at the bottom - practically there is no silencer...

Re: Hello from Hungary

Here it is, after removing 3 antennas from 4. The last antenna is the only one that the radio really uses. I will try to find one with slightly different shape.

Here are some new pics about the car. I have changed to 17'' wheels and also solved the leaking automatic transmission oil sump.

Re: Hello from Hungary

Next jobs I need to do:
- change the exhaust back box
- do the steering - all the ball joints and linkage is way pasted. I think I will need a full steering kit and change probably everything there. The only thing is, I have no clue where to find a steering kit in Europe....

Thanks! I think they are from a BMW E39, but I'm not sure about the manufacturer. I will try to find it somewhere on the wheels and let You know.

Re: Hello from Hungary

Hello everyone,

I'm a fresh Camaro owner from Hungary. It's winter here, I will not use my car for 4-5 months, so I can fix some mistakes. So, I will have a lot of questions.

(Sorry, my english is not too good. I improve that.)

Have a nice day.

I bet there would be more american cars if cars would be taxed on value not displacement or number of bolts or other bs intentionally made to sell german expensive cars.
