Hello from Spain

Well I said one who registers on this forum to start learning about this car as next Sunday delivered my 92 Camaro RS.

Live in Barcelona (northwestern Spain) and this will be my first American car.

My English is catastrophic and I write all this with google translator.
Excuse my spelling mistakes

Re: Hello from Spain

Thank you very much for the welcome everyone. I have some questions and need some replacements, that section of the forum is the most suited for this? For example recommended oil type engine and automatic gearbox and quantity of liquid. After'm looking for some missing and Spain is impossible to find like an ashtray such parts. The speedometer did not work for me, it is customary speed sensor is damaged? Where it is installed?

Ebay motors is always a good source for odd hard to find items at good prices

speed sensor is fitted in tail of auto. transmission just ahead of where prop shaft enters
the plastic drive sometimes goes

Thank you very much. Now I will look to see if I discover things. Since I got the workshop manual and so try to learn to repair it.

Re: Hello from Spain

Well now I have my first order spare parts from USA in a well known web. But that ye may have an idea we summarize the issue of import:

Order $ 51, shipping $ 41 Total $ 92
Spanish tax 21%
Post Expenses $ 7

Total for an order of 51 dollars paying just $ 130 +/-

Still have to get another order placed on another website to see such.

Now I am looking a limited slip differential to make good burnout in the purest American style.

Re: Hello from Spain

Thanks truth is that every day I like best.
Well a few more photos:

My Camaro and a friend who curiously the same name as me.

Pontiac to a friend (Girl)

Pontiac de una amiga.

the condom is small

el condon es pequeño!!!!

You can not have an American car and not, is superior to me that if I need a self-blocking now !!!!!

Touch start correcting flaws of the previous owner. First remove the paint taillights !!!!

And I happened to find this piece. Find information and is a former car locator (I guess if someone stole the car) if anyone knows anything more I appreciate that report.

Re: Hello from Spain

Accompanied by Kitt

En compañia de Kitt

Typical problem in Spain. The sidewalks are very high.

Tipico problema en España. Las aceras son muy altas.

Buy in France, a hood and grille Z28

Repaired and ready to paint.

And so far that's all. Good support broke the gearbox and I'm waiting to send me a new one from USA because in Spain are not.

Re: Hello from Spain

How are the taxes in Spain?I heard you don't have to pay property tax (the one we have on displacement) if you don't use the car.I'm seriously thinking of buying a car registered in Spain if that's true .

Fake, I understand that you mean the property to a car. All vehicles in Spain must have the technical inspection (ITV) and insurance. To buy a vehicle you have to be resident in Spain (temporary "school or work" or fixed) and you have to register the vehicle in a home. Each year a tax on each car according to engine capacity and power is greater or less economic amount is paid.

Oh so Spain also has the bullshit displacement tax.I heard that anual tax was on how much the car weight not how big the engine is.In Germany the anual "property tax" (don't know how to call it) is @ €400 while in Romania for a 5.7litre engine is €2,000 ...this is on displacement paid even if you don't use the car.....f*** up continent.I asked because I have few american cars ....after 2 its getting from expensive to damn crazy expensive.

I look for the Camaro this year have to pay: Tax anual 180 euros, 198 euros Insurance (classic car insurance) and the tecnic inspection is 50 euros. Besides, and this is voluntary: parking and petrol (gasoline much hahaha)

I never put insurance on the list of taxes because insurance is special ,the way you drive and so on but that annual tax is starting to **** me off.180 euros is not alot but it adds up when you get 2-3 cars and remember we are not talking about luxury cars here ,there are people who pay for a €150,000 Tesla zero annual tax....that is bs and a insult for those of us who know what cars are.

After reading your list of "prices" I'm seriously thinking of moving my cars to Spain
