Hey everyone!

Hi all, hope you’re all keeping well!
Been working on my Camaro over winter and getting all those jobs that I’ve been putting off done…

so far…. I’ve recovered the headliner and sail panels, repainted the windscreen surround, drivers side wing and door, replaced the outer sweeps and door tops and finally I’ve put some new wheels and tyres on! Phew!!

to celebrate I’ve just been out for a quick blast to take some photos

hope to catch up with some of you this year if there are any events we’re all attending!
cheers
Phil

Re: Hey everyone!

Hey Phil, I always wonder, what's the third gen scene like over there? I can't imagine there are a lot of them so you must be fairly unique right? Nice ride too, it is mostly stock or you got some go-fast goodies hiding?

Re: Hey everyone!

There’s quite a good scene in the Uk but it’s rare to see a thirdgen these days

she’s got plenty of mods….

Suspension wise:- upgraded lca’s, hotchkiss AFC’s, hotchkiss panhard rod, wonder bar, iroc shocks and springs..

engine wise:- hedman headers, exhaust cutout, cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb etc…. She goes well for a little one lol

Yeah I love the wheels… just got them as an upgrade from my 25th anniversary wheels… they’re Ridler 650’s 18x8 👍

Re: Hey everyone!

Its looking really nice, Phil.

I have just replaced the headliner and sail panels in mine - had to wait an age for the headliner from the US mind. Door seals next, and hatch pull down motor repair in pipeline.

My hatch is misaligned (like they all are), but I need to get the courage up to reposition it and retighten those bolts in the glass.....

Re: Hey everyone!

Thanks! I bought the material “off the roll” and repaired my old board with fibreglass…. Came out great! I also put some rubber trim around the openings and over the fabric so it holds it nicely and looks more finished…. Just done the door panels too which was fun lol…

my hatch is misaligned too but it’s been like that since I bought the car in ‘97 ish so I can live with it haha!

I’ve also just replaced the radiator as for reasons of not being able to find an original in the 90’s it had a Fiero rad bodged in lol
Much better with the proper one now and all new hoses etc 👍

Re: Hey everyone!

You did your headliner the "proper way" then, by recovering it...

Mine was too far gone and crumbly, plus the mice had got to it at some point previously, and set up shop behind the rear part - ugh....

The third gens are a rare sight in the US, but are real unicorns on UK roads these days - just had my IROC-Z MOT'd today - passed OK but running a bit rich so need to find out why that is. Nothing to adjust on a TPI, so must be electronics.

Re: Hey everyone!

Just out of interest, when you did your door cards, did you replace the plastic clips, or did you manage to get them off without breaking them?

Re: Hey everyone!

hey, the clips came out fine… I always use the proper tool ( a spatula lol )

the issue I had had was that my cardboard backing had degraded so I had to repair all the mounting holes….. to be fair I’ve had the door panels off so many times recently that they would have gone anyways I think!

Re: Hey everyone!

Headliner was the worst bit, but we’ll worth the effort! My old one was literally hanging off and blowing in the wind!
