What's the port diameter of stock LG4 exhaust manifolds?

Just curious; I've never had mine off.

Really? I didn't think they were anywhere near that big. I was thinking about installing Flowtech headers when I rebuild my motor this summer, but the ones I would be getting only have 1.5" primaries. At that rate, the headers can't really get me that much more power, can they? I know they help, but I'm really trying to decide if they're worth the $400 I'll spend on them by the time I have them coated, get the Y-pipe, and get aluminum gaskets and decent bolts.

my stock lo3 manifold passages were nowhere near as big as my 1 5/8'' hooker headers. yes its defintely worth it but with an lg4 you dont need to run out and buy the best

Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to be running a Comps Cams XE249 and 58cc heads with 1.94/1.50 valves. If that's all the bigger the flange where the Y-pipe hooks up is, I'm sure headers will make a huge difference, especially with these mods.

They should be 1 7/8

Ok the Flowtechs should be fine as long as your motor isnt too wild.

So if the flange to the Y-pipe is 1 7/8", what is the port diameter at the flange where they bolt to the heads? Iroc22, do you have the shorties or the long tubes? How do you like them?

Well shoot I guess I could measure a set.

I love my Flowtech's and they are unbelievable quality for the money. The only real downside are that they are 1 1/2 primaries. They are shorties.

How much are the flowtec's and how much for a Y pipe. I really do not want to put headers on this car, but it is the only reasonable way to put on my 3" exhaust off my TPI.
