Replacing Metal Plug on Stock Cat
My 1982 T/A has a stock pellet-filled cat with a fill plug on the bottom. I'd like to remove the plug and dump/scrape out all the pellets, just like gutting the newer cats.
I've heard you used to be able to buy replacement bolts that screwed into place of the stock metal plug. This was probably more common on older cars that share the same type of useless cat that my car has.
Anybody know where to get these cat plugs? Will the pellets just fall out of the chamber or are they bonded together by some means?
Thanks!
