I was talking to my gfs dad that co owns a performance shop in town and he said that I can get a American Thunder exhaust for my 1985 IROC Z. I dont know. It is $450 CND. The hooker catback that I was looking into is $415 CND. I love the sound of the hooker exhaust and I think That I an going to stick with the hooker. I am just wondering if anyone has a soundclip of the American Thunder exhaust. I just want to see what it sounds like.

I also want to know which I would get my HP from. I know that it wont be much difference. I love the hooker sound so I am planning on getting that. I am just curious. So tell me ur thoughts on the situation..

Well, dyno results show the Aero Chamber out flows a Flowmaster, but that is on a high HP motor. On your car you're not going to tell the difference. Try the sound clips sections on the home page, there might be a flowmaster clip or 2 there. Just be sure to check the mods before you listen, cause cam and head work will affect the sound.
I'd say if you want a loud idle get a flow, but if you want loud acceleration go for the Hooker.

 

MY BROTHER HAS THE AMERICAN THUNDER CAT BACK ON HIS 91 Z28 WA 305 AND MY BUDDY HAS IT ON AN 87 IROC W/ A CRATE 350. ON MY BROTHERS IT SOUNDS NICE. IT'S A NICE DEEP LOW TONE. ON THE 350 HE HAS NO CAT AND IT SOUNDS MORE THROATY AND NOT AS DEEP. I THINK IT SOUNDS BETTER ON THE 305 W THE CAT.

I AM PUTTING THE HOOKER CAT BACK ON MINE TOMORROW WITH HEADERS AND A NEW CAT, ALL THREE INCH AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT ONE SOUNDS BETTER...
