Well, I can understand your point but I'll still go with what I said. On an old muscle car, yes. Our cars, no.

Got my #17233 for $100 used. No soot build up, but had the cat connector cut off.

Synapsis you said you have a cutout in your exaust. how long have you had it? seems like it would rust shut or open in there thats the only reason i havent got one. does it work well?

I've had it for about 3 months now. Mind you it hasn't rained in Arizona yet, but I have a plate-type cutout which I doubt would rust shut. It's good for about a tenth in the 1/4. Here's a pic.

cool ..i thought you was talkin bout the MR. Gasket cut outs with the cable that you pull from inside the car to open them ...has anyone ever used these they work good? they last? seems there would be a corrosion problem and they freeze up.

I'm already running SLP 1-3/4" headers.

IROCZTWENTYGR8 - I had two people (one weighing over 200 pounds) in my car last night and broke my cats by bottoming out in the driveway. I'll be gutting them in the next week, up for a new sound file? How about gutted cats *and* the cutout?

I'm pretty sure the 80 series muffler does come with the American Thunder System. I have the 80 series muffler on my 84 and I don't know if it's because it is carbureted or what but it is pretty loud, nice rumble, on the highway it isn't that loud true, but cruising through town, it definitely turns heads.

So.... ummmm.... I guess you just aren't interested in making a lot of power then...... Because that cam isn't even that big and it sounds like that. And the stock cam that makes the exhaust note that you like better, is not gonna get you very far......

The American Thunder exhaust uses a 2 chamber, 40 series muffler. The Force II system uses a 3 chamber, 80 series muffler. Just clearing up some confusion.

My system didn't. I had a 40 series muffler before I bought the American Thunder system, and the Am Thunder system's muffler is larger and the serial numbers didn't match.

They use the complete 3" 80 Series in the 17233 system.

Yup.

Hopefully if the exhaust place gets the flanges today, I'll be getting my cat-bypass pipes made in about an hour.

Got the bypass pipes done. It takes 45 minutes to undo the 12 bolts that hold the cats on and bolt in the pipes. But the new sound clips are in the sig. It's a little windy today, so they might not sound as good as the first... of course... it distorts really bad anyway.
