Dynomax vs. Flowmaster

I was wondering if switching from a dynomax super turbo with dual outlets to a flowmaster 80 series would make my car any louder and more aggressive sounding. I have the stock intermediate pipe without the cat. Thanks.

What he said. Though if you want a louder idle I would say Flows, louder/better sounding at WOT or taking off, I'd say Hooker.

The only difference is the way it hooks to the cat. My $200 Hooker, had a square flange for the cat, I just had it cut off.

i thought you had problems with a hanger on what was it,,,the passengers side?.. also, what do the tips on the flowmaster look like? i dislike the hooker tips, so they gotta go! how would 2 4 inch pipes look? they wont be tips, im gonna get them welded way back so you cant tell. what will that do for sound also?

What he said.

The tips on my 3" catback are dual 3" polished aluminum tips, that are slanted. The only fitment problems I had with my catback was the muffler hitting the heatshield. The fitment to the cats was slipfit, went right together. If you want to hear it at idle, check my sig. I've never heard a Hooker system, but I'll agree that the Flowmaster system is sorta quiet during a part throttle takeoff.

Yeah they are 2 angle cut tips on each side of the bumper. Your car doesn't sound like it would be low on any acceleration?!

you're stock pipe is 2.25". That's why its quiet. A flowmaster might help but don't expect a miracle.

It's quiet on part throttle acceleration. Which means I never get over 2000 RPMs. At 2750 RPMs it roars.

iv heard that hooker outflows dynomax and flowmaster. but im sure its only like a what,,,,1hp differance? i just want something that sounds better than my stock catback. iv got headers going to a stock catback, and it doesnt sound too bad, but it can be better, and im sure its restrictave as FUCCK! so anything will be better!! i guess you can change it all later, mufflers are only waht??? 80 bucks?

I've had good luck w/ my 40 series Flowmaster. The deep sound of a flowmaster gets me. But I am definately getting hooker headers. Dynomax makes a good header muffler. But for what you sound like you want, I would go Flowmaster.

flowmaster is louder than dynomax, but I would suggest hooker. Course that's just my opinion, it's up to you what you really want.
