How would YOU.....

How would you do this?

I've got an SLP Y-pipe hanging under my car, and a hooker cat back...

I'm trying to figure out how i wanna pipe it from the Y-pipe to the I-pipe. Im getting a 3" piece of pipe bent at a 45° angle and I think on the I-pipe side I'm going to weld on a 3bolt triangle collector flange, and do the same to the bent pipe, but for the Y-pipe side I can't decide if I should Pipe spread and slip fit it then weld, or if I should Butt weld it so that If i ever need to change anything I dont lose 2+ inches of the pipe due to the welded slip fit.

How have other catless guys taken care of such situations?

I just cut the cat off, with the flanges, and welded a piece of 3" pipe in place of the cat. No bending or anything. If I need to change it in the future, then I'll worry about it then.

Thats the benefit of having a very hot wrench, cut the pipe if you need to.

The SLP cat back doesn't end with a flange

And the Hookers flange is the "square" style, so that has to go.

So i've got a flangless end, and another end i think im going to go with the triangular collector style flange

Anybody elses setups?
