Flowmaster install notes...
Hi all.
I apologize if this has been hashed out previously but I just thought I would pass along how my Flow ForceII SOR catback install went at my house. First off, the Y junction needed its 2.25" ends expanded at a local exhaust shop (they also forced it onto the factory catpipe where I had removed the original junction, no cost). Second, slotting the inlet and exit pipes on the muffler helped a great deal. Make sure you don't go too far towards the muffler case (like I did) or you will be driving to the welder for some small beads (like I will... live and learn...) Lastly, you may be shimming the passenger side rearmost hanger down a hair for clearance.
Okay, one more. Band clamps rule. If you are not at a curved junction, these things are la bamba. ~$11.50 at NAPA in 3".
Everything else was simple. Fired the heap up for a second and even with the tiny leaks she sounds nice. VERY quiet but with a nice burble for an otherwise stock vehicle. Now off to the welder. heh
FWIW this took a floor jack/ramps/impact/1/2" and 9/16" tools/15mm deep socket/penetrant. Plus protective gear and curses I am sure don't even exist when I realized I had gone too far
Peace,
Ken
Edit: It just hit me that I can place SHALLOW slots in the inner pipes, 90 degrees from the slots on the outers, and then reuse the (so far undistorted) band clamps. durrrr...
