Header size. 1 3/4 or 1 5/8 ? Help!
Here are the details. I have a 91' Z28,L98. Dual Cats. Every thing else is stock except for Flowmaster, Airfoil. Planning to change out heads, manifold and runners later. What size headers should I use? 1 3/4 or 1 5/8? I was going to go with nickel plated TES Edlebrock in 1 5/8. I don't think they make a 1 3/4. My other choice if I go 1 3/4 is SLP. Will this be to much heat under the hood? Need to keep it smog legal.
Please give me insight.
thanks.

Well, I would go with the 1 5/8" headers because they seem to be better for torque. My brother has SLP 1 5/8" headers on his 1987 Monte Carlo Aero Coupe with a 406 under the hood and man does it haul !!
